Trips to Rhine-Romantic Route

Rhineland-Palatinate is the federal state that borders closely with France. It features mountain ranges such as the Pfälzerwald, Hunsrück, Westerwald, and Eifel. The highest peak is Erbeskopf at 818 meters above sea level, located in the Hunsrück. The landscape is traversed by several rivers, creating large valleys. The Rhine River partially follows the border to France and the German state of Hesse.

The Middle Rhine Valley, between Bingen and Bonn, boasts many castles and fortresses with romantic panoramas, making it an idyllic vacation spot. Upon leaving the highway and traveling down winding roads through the forest towards the Mosel or Rhine rivers, the mild climate contributes to the quality of the Mosel wines. Take the opportunity to learn about the local delicacies and, most importantly, sample them. Today, there is a wide selection of dry and semi-dry Mosel and Rhine wines.

Mosel, along with Ahr, Mittelrhein, Nahe, Rheinhessen, and Pfalz, are the wine districts in the Rhineland-Palatinate region. Enjoy a boat trip along one of the rivers or visit amusement parks and zoos in the region. Trier, an ancient Roman city, is a must-see, and from there, you can continue into Luxembourg and possibly even France.

Enjoy your vacation in one of Germany's most beautiful landscapes. Common expressions like "Mahlzeit" (enjoy your meal) and "Zum Wohl" (cheers) are often heard in the Mosel Valley.

Bernkastel-Kues. Visit the wine paradise of Bernkastel-Kues along the Mosel and delight in the harmony of food and drink. Mornings invite early-rising guests for a bike ride through the winding Mosel Valley. With a joyful "Morjn," hikers are welcomed to discover part of the region's 2000-year-old history. For active sports enthusiasts, activities on land, water, and air are available. Those who prefer tranquility can enjoy a boat trip on the beautiful stretches of the Mosel River and then stroll through the medieval marketplace in Bernkastel.

Boppard. A cozy and charming village along the Rhine, just south of Koblenz, where you can enjoy delicious food and wines for a few days.

Cochem. Below the late Gothic Reichsburg (Imperial Castle), the old town center along the Mosel features medieval squares and lovingly renovated half-timbered houses, gems of Moselland architecture. The rich history over 2000 years has fostered a vibrant folklore and wine tradition.

Rüdesheim by the Rhine. In the heart of Rüdesheim’s old town, a magnet for visitors from all continents, is the 144-meter-long Drosselgasse. Here, you can dance and sing to live music from late morning until midnight in wine houses and gardens.

Traben-Trarbach. Romance and hospitality in the historic wine regions along the Mosel. Enjoy swimming, mini-golf, tennis, fishing, and horseback riding. After an active day, indulge in culinary delights with exciting wines.

Zell. A picturesque wine town along the Mosel, known since Roman times as a warehouse location 2000 years ago. The vineyards surround the city and shape the townscape. The wine Zeller Schwarze Katz is well-known, and the town also offers waterparks with slides for adventure seekers.
