Trips to Wengen
Wengen is a village and winter sports resort located in the Bernese Oberland in central Switzerland. It has approximately 1,400 year-round residents, which increases to 10,000 during the ski season. It is one of the very few villages in Europe without a road connection, although there are some electric vehicles for transport to and from the railway station. The only way to reach this destination is by train or cable car. Since 1930, Wengen has hosted the annual "Lauberhornrennen" downhill ski race every January. In recent years, a combined alpine event has also been held in conjunction with the downhill race. The dining scene in Wengen offers a focus on Swiss traditional dishes, such as Rösti and Raclette, as well as a selection of international cuisine with an emphasis on French and Italian. The nightlife includes several restaurants and dance bars.
