Trips to Podstrana

From the small town of Podstrana, you can take a local bus into Split. It's not far at all. The advantage of staying a bit outside the city is that around Podstrana, there are several beautiful small beaches, allowing you to avoid the hustle and bustle of the big city. Podstrana doesn't have a true town center; it's a small tourist spot located just a few miles south of the amazing city of Split. There are a few restaurants, some cafes, and grocery stores along with fruit and vegetable stands. Instead of a string of large hotels, you'll find numerous private houses offering apartments and rooms for accommodation. The old coastal road leading from Split southward, toward the Makarska Riviera and Dubrovnik, passes directly through the area. Depending on where you stay, you may need to cross this road on your way to the beach.
